A record 19GW of wind capacity is under construction in the US, while the total amount in the country’s late-stage pipeline has reached 37.8GW – a stunning 46% climb on last year, according to the American Wind Energy Association’s latest figures.

Although the first half of 2018 saw relatively few big wind farms completed, the US nevertheless topped 90GW of installed capacity for the first time, as projects like Invenergy’s 300MW Santa Rita and Goldwind’s 160MW Rattlesnake Wind came on line in recent months.
