Swedish utility Vattenfall has installed the first of 49 turbines for its 406MW Horns Rev 3 offshore array, located off Denmark’s North Sea west coast.

Vattenfall said the wind farm will increase Danish annual electricity production from wind by about 12% and meet the consumption of around 425,000 households.

The start of construction at Horns Rev 3 on 19 July marks the first time in five years that a new offshore wind farm is being constructed off Denmark.
