Fast-changing wind power market dynamics in India, Australia and Taiwan are expected to help supercharge a yearly build-out in Asia Pacific that will grow to a peak of 12.1GW in the next five years, with the region reaching a total installed capacity of some 141GW by 2027, according to latest numbers from Wood Mackenzie consultancy MAKE.

“Ambitious plans to increase the scale of India's wind auctions, offshore wind power growth in Taiwan, and cost competitiveness of wind power in Australia will be key drivers in the sub-region,” senior analyst Robert Liew told Recharge, noting that APeC (Asia Pacific excluding China) would be become “one of the largest global sub-regions” in the next decade.
