The levelised cost of energy (LCOE) for a Danish offshore wind project starting production in 2020 is expected to fall to €46 per megawatt hour ($54/MWh), excluding grid and system costs, an updated LCOE calculator by the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) shows.

Compared to DEA’s previous assumptions, capital expenditure is expected to have gone down by close to 40% by the end of the decade, while improvements to O&M are expected to reduce operational costs by more than 20%.
