The gathering momentum behind India’s onshore wind ambitions looks to be facing a major test, with reports that the latest 2GW tender is heavily undersubscribed due to fears over transmission capacity – a problem one analyst said could threaten government targets.

The tender attracted just 1.2GW of bidding from four developers, according to India’s Economic Times and other media quoting government officials.
