Siemens Gamesa has won the turbine deal for 250MW of new South African wind under development by a consortium led by Mainstream Renewable Power.

The Spain-based OEM will supply 109 of its SWT-2.3-108 machines to the 140MW Kangnas wind farm in Northern Cape and Perdekraal East, a 110MW project in the Western Cape. The company also signed a 10-year service agreement.
