Germany-based OEM Senvion has signed another deal in Argentina with developer Total Eren, and said it is closing in on further agreements in the region.

The EPC and turbine supply agreement will see Senvion equip the 50MW Malaspina project on Argentina’s east coast with 3.6M114 machines with a 93-metre rotor diameter. Installation is due to begin in the first half of next year.

The deal, booked in the second quarter, is Senvion’s second in Argentina with Total Eren, a Paris-based developer that is 23% owned by global oil group Total.

Total and Total Eren yesterday unveiled a memorandum of understanding with Petrobras that could see the trio develop onshore wind and solar projects together in neighbouring Brazil.

Senvion said it is expanding its office in Argentina and is “currently agreeing on final terms of further agreements in South America. The company is establishing a close network of experienced partners in Argentina and Chile since its market entry in 2016”.
