Oil supermajor Shell has signed up to the UK Carbon Trust’s Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) programme, adding its name to a roster of developers on the joint industry R&D initiative that includes EnBW, E.ON, Equinor, Innogy, Orsted, ScottishPower Renewables/Iberdrola, SSE Renewables and Vattenfall.

“The Carbon Trust’s OWA is a good example of the collaboration required between public and private sectors,” said Shell’s vice president of wind development Dorine Bosman.
