The Siemens Gamesa technology in place at the Nissum Bredning pilot project off Denmark has revealed the that the levelised cost of electricity (LCoE) from offshore wind could be cut back by up to 30%, the project partners said during the Global Offshore Wind conference in Manchester.

The innovative DKr300m ($49.6m) 28MW offshore wind project is fully operational, and has been producing power for partners Nissum Bredning Vindmøllelaug and Jysk Energi since early 2018.
