The Bundestag, Germany’s lower house of parliament, has extended a rule for another two years making a permit in accordance with sound emission rules a prerequisite to take part in onshore wind tenders, fulfiling a long-standing demand by the wind industry.

Privileges for community power projects that were exempt from having to provide a sound emission permit, and also got two years longer to complete their projects, had driven the price for the average winning bid at onshore wind tenders to critically low levels.
