Russia’s latest wind power bidding round has been oversubscribed by almost three times, indicating healthy interest in the nation’s fledgling sector.

The first stage of a tender currently underway for 830MW of projects has attracted 77 bids totaling 2.21GW, said Russian wind association RAWI.

The process is seeking to spur development of the capacity between 2019 and 2023, which the largest chunk, 500MW, available for commisioning in the final year of the period.
