Australia’s Queensland government has granted approval for Lacour Energy to develop the 800MW Clarke Creek wind farm, 150km north west of Rockhampton.

The Clarke Creek project – one of the country’s largest wind farms – will involve up to 195 turbines, and has the capacity to provide 3% of the entire state’s power requirements.

The wind farm in central Queensland is part of a hybrid wind and solar project that will potentially be backed up by battery storage.
