Orsted installs first suction bucket at Borkum Riffgrund 2

Belgium’s GeoSea over the weekend has installed the first of 20 suction bucket foundations at the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 array in the German North Sea for Danish utility Orsted.

“Already in 2014, we were able to install the first prototype of a suction bucket jacket in our wind park Borkum Riffgrund 1 and test it successfully,” says Orsted Germany managing director Voker Malmen.
