New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed into law this week a bill that directs the state’s utilities regulator to accept an amended application from Fishermen’s Energy’s long-stranded pilot offshore wind project facing Atlantic City.

The bill, overwhelming approved by the state’s legislature in April alongside a 50% statewide renewables target, was expected to make it into law under Murphy. The new governor has pledged to kick-start New Jersey’s offshore wind market, setting a nation-leading 3.5GW
