Alliant Energy has agreed to acquire a 150MW wind project in Iowa from developer Invenergy and filed regulatory papers to sell the power through its subsidiary in neighbouring Wisconsin, adding to the Midwestern utility’s existing 1GW expansion plan in Iowa by 2020.

Alliant, based in Wisconsin’s capital city Madison, has two principal subsidiaries: Interstate Power and Light (IPL) and Wisconsin Power and Light (WPL), both regulated utilities.
