Dutch contractor Van Oord is in line for a €500m ($581m) deal to deliver the foundations for Wpd’s Yunlin project off Taiwan, becoming the latest European supplier to stake a claim in the Asian nation’s fast-emerging offshore wind sector.
Wpd named Van Oord preferred foundation contractor to design, produce and install Yunlin’s 80 monopiles, according to a statement from the Dutch group that pegs the capacity of the offshore wind project at 640MW.
