The current price pressure in the wind industry caused by a shift to auction-based support systems affects not only manufacturers, but the entire industry, and will lead to companies disappearing, Gernot Blanke, the chief executive of German developer Wpd said.
“Consolidation will happen, and does happen already,” Blanke replied to Recharge at a press conference Friday on the upcoming Global Wind Summit in Hamburg in September.
