The EOWDC [European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre] has a long and storied history – not least Donald Trump’s ultimately fruitless legal challenge to stop its construction. Could you give me your first thoughts on having brought this project into production almost 14 years after its conception?

Adam Ezzamel: It has obviously been a very long road – the project was originally mooted in 2004, as you know – and the development phase experienced a real rollercoaster ride [as] Aberdeen Harbour objected to the scheme in its first incarnation as a 30-turbine scheme that stretched from the harbour’s northern breakwater right up the coast – and in retrospect one can understand them not being happy with that.
