Vestas’ recent $100m acquisition of US-based data-analytics firm Utopus Insights moves the world’s leading wind turbine supplier closer than ever to adjacent sectors like solar and natural gas, says Chris Brown, president of the OEM’s North American sales and service division.
“It’s not just wind anymore for us — it’s wind-plus-solar-plus-batteries, plus things that can synchronise the entire energy system and help drive costs down,” Brown tells Recharge.
