German utility EnBW and wind OEM Siemens Gamesa have signed charter contracts with the Liverpool-based shipping company Bibby Marine Services for a new service operation vessel (SOV) to be deployed at EnBW’s Hohe See and Albatros arrays.

The two projects some 95km north of the German North Sea island of Borkum have a combined capacity of 609MW.

The SOV is to support operations and maintenance work at the arrays from summer 2019 until 2029, with Siemens Gamesa taking over the charter for the first five years, and EnBW for the second five years.
