Taiwan’s economics ministry has awarded European companies Wpd, Orsted and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners the bulk of 3.84GW in offshore wind grid connection capacity on offer in the island nation's first round for wind at sea.

Taiwanese developer Swancor was also among the winners, as were Northland Power, and state-owned Taiwan Power Company (Taipower).

Projects from bids that won today will be able to count on support from Taiwan's feed-in tariff (FIT) programme.
