Federal US subsidies for renewables plunged 56% between 2013 and 2016, and the drop was even more significant for wind and solar, according to a new report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
In 2010 the US doled out $15.8bn in subsidies to renewables, falling modestly to $15.3bn in 2013, the EIA says. But in 2016, the last year analysed, total subsidies dropped to $6.7bn
