Led by renewables, first quarter profit surged at Spanish utility Iberdrola, helped by wind power in Spain, the UK and Brazil, and commissioning of the 350MW Wikinger array in the Baltic Sea off the coast of Germany.
In the quarter, the company also added 242MW in UK onshore capacity, 455MW in the US through majority-owned subsidiary Avangrid Renewables and 328.5MW
