Argentine generator Genneia has signed a 10-year off-take agreement with Oroplata, a unit of Canadian mining group Goldcorp, for 38GWh/yr of electric power from the 101.8MW Rawson wind farm in central Chubut province in Patagonia.
Oroplata has a mining operation in Santa Cruz province to the south.
Genneia did not make public financial details of the transaction, its second in the country’s non-regulated electricity market known as MATER that was launched last year by President Mauricio Macri’s government.
