The US government has approved routes on public lands for the final two segments of the 1,000-mile (1,609km), 500kV Gateway West transmission project that will provide conduits for low-cost Wyoming wind power to Idaho and other western states.
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) estimates the line will deliver electric power to supply 975,000 homes and create more than 3,000 jobs during construction and operation.
