The offshore wind sector took another step forward when the world’s most powerful turbine to enter service to date – an 8.8MW version of the MHI Vestas V164 – was installed for Vattenfall off northeast Scotland.
The power-boosted 8.8MW model was the first to be deployed at the Swedish group’s European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) in Aberdeen Bay.
It will be joined by another 8.8MW
