Brazilian wind power prices fell to record low levels of R$67.6/MWh ($20.76) in a small but hugely competitive tender - equalling Mexico’s $20.57/MWh price for wind last year.

A total of 114.4MW of wind capacity was contracted from four projects by the Folha Larga Consortium, which is controlled by France's EDF Energies Nouvelles. Prices fell to around 25% of the R$255 cap price.
