Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems confirmed nearly 600MW of US turbine orders, including some from previously disclosed master supply deals, as developers tighten up their construction programmes ahead of the production tax credit’s expiration.
In a raft of big US announcements, Vestas chalked up orders from utilities Xcel Energy and MidAmerican Energy, independent generator Terra-Gen, and an undisclosed customer – as well as securing a renewal and extension of service agreements for a 1,150MW wind portfolio.
