The Inter American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a R$500m investment facility for the Argentine government to guarantee infrastructure projects in the country, a significant amount of which will go towards renewables projects under the country’s RenovAr programme.

The guarantees are part of IDB’s strategy to help leverage private financing for “productive infrastructure” which, according to IDB, adds up to $69bn through 2025, including roadworks, transmission and renewable energy projects, which are expected to include $30bn in investment from private companies.
