German utility Innogy via its Innogy Renewables Ireland unit has bought half of the about 600MW Dublin Array offshore wind project from local developer Saorgus Energy.

The companies didn’t disclose a price for the acquisition.

Dublin Array is located in the Irish Sea about 10 kilometers off Ireland’s East Coast.

“I am delighted that we have secured our involvement in a second Irish project, following our acquisition of the 10MW Dromadda Beg onshore wind farm last year, providing support for Ireland to decarbonise the energy sector over the coming years,” Innogy chief operating officer Hans Bünting says.
