Brazilian renewable energy developer CPFL Renováveis posted a net profit of R$19.7m ($6.1m) in 2017, compare to a loss of R$143.7m in 2016, representing its first full year of profitability since going public in 2013.

Rising revenues from its 2.1GW operational portfolio – including 1.3GW of wind – and declining financial costs due to a reduction in interest rates charged on the company’s loans helped improve the company’s finances.
