The news that the Dutch government awarded Vattenfall the right to develop the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm is another landmark moment for the wind industry. After the zero bids in last year’s German offshore tender, now the Netherlands announces a zero-subsidy project.
The two 350 MW wind farms, to be built by 2022, will be the world’s first to operate without public subsidy.
