Argentina in September is due to announce a third tender under its RenovAr green energy program, but as it races to meet renewables targets, the country also needs to overcome one of the biggest hurdles to the success of the tender - the lack of transmission links.

“I don’t think the tender will be a success unless the government [also] tenders off transmission lines necessary to connect renewable energy projects,” Alfredo Bernardi, president of the newly created Argentina Windpower Chamber (CEA) tells Recharge.
