US wind produced a record 254.2bn kWh of electricity in 2017 despite a 1.5% decline in electric power demand nationwide, according to data released by the federal Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Wind electricity generation has increased annually during the last decade from 55.4bn kWh in 2008 and 167.8bn kWh five years ago in 2013, as the US continues to install wind power capacity.
