Bay State Wind, the US offshore project owned by Denmark’s Ørsted and New England utility Eversource, now plans to incorporate battery storage into its first project, signing a letter of intent with NEC Energy Solutions.

Bay State aims to “work collaboratively” with NEC Energy Solutions to add 55MW/110MWh of storage to its planned 800MW first US offshore wind project, in what would be the largest combined wind/storage plant in the world.
