UK wind power generation hit a new record high of 14.2GW on the afternoon of Saturday 17 March, representing some 34.2% of the country’s total power generation, said grid operator National Grid.

A National Grid spokeswoman told Recharge that the 14.2GW was achieved at around 1430, and topped the previous record set earlier that day when 13.9GW of wind generation was recorded at 1030.
