Bay State Wind is the first US offshore wind project eligible for a streamlined review process by federal permitting agencies prior to construction, the 50-50 Orsted and Eversource joint venture announced Wednesday.

The proposed 400-800MW Bay State Wind located 25 miles (40.2km) off the Massachusetts South Coast was designated by the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (FPISC) as one of 38 infrastructure projects nationwide to receive FAST-41 status.
