The first GE Haliade 150-6MW offshore wind turbine is up at the 396MW Merkur project in the German North Sea.

Installation at the development site, located 35km north of the island of Borkum, was carried out by the SeaFox 5, sailing out of the project’s logistics hub in the Dutch port of Eemshaven.

The giant vessel is handling erection of the 66 turbines at Merkur, an assignment expected to wrap up by September, with commissioning activities continuing until the end of the year.
