The Mermaid and Seastar projects totaling almost 500MW off the Belgian coast plan to use Siemens Gamesa’s latest 8MW turbine.
The Otary partnership, which is leading consortia developing the twin projects, said “following intensive discussions with multiple suppliers” it hopes to tie up a supply contract and long-term service agreement with Siemens Gamesa by this summer for 58 turbines with a 167-metre rotor diameter.
