American Electric Power (AEP), the US utilities giant, has thrown a spotlight on an anonymously funded group working to undermine the 2GW Wind Catcher project, calling bogus a claim that the state of Louisiana would see none of the benefits from the Oklahoma-based mega-project.
Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO), the Louisiana-based utility owned by AEP, this week took the extraordinary step of issuing a statement in which it “called into question” the Protect Our Pocketbooks group, which opposes Wind Catcher.
