The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) and a subsidiary of Hunt Power have committed to developing a 1GW capacity transmission project across southern Arizona and New Mexico that will facilitate regional renewables development and support grid reliability.
Southline Transmission Project will provide much-needed transmission capacity to carry electric power from present and future wind, solar and geothermal facilities in both states to the existing regional grid.
