The STX France shipyard in the French Atlantic coastal town of Saint Nazaire has completed the transformer station for E.ON and Statoil’s 385MW Arkona offshore wind project in the Germany part of the Baltic Sea.

The 5,000-ton heavy rig with a height of more than 100 metres from the seabed will now be transported by two ocean-going tugs to reach its destination northeast of the island of Rügen at a water depth of 30 meters in mid-March.
