Renewables capacity in the Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) region is expected to boom over the next decade, as analysts forecast South Africa will become “the region to watch”.

Research from global consultancy BMI said SSA capacity will expand by nearly 90% between 2017 and 2027, but from a low base.
