Avangrid Renewables, the third largest owner of US onshore wind capacity, is ramping up its offshore wind ambitions in a major way, as market “fundamentals” begin clicking together along the Atlantic coast, says chief executive Laura Beane.

Avangrid Renewables, a unit of US utility owner Avangrid, plunged into the burgeoning US offshore market a year ago – first winning the auction for a development zone off North Carolina, and then acquiring a half-stake in Vineyard Wind, which owns the rights to a zone south of Massachusetts.
