Offshore wind installed capacity is expected to grow faster than onshore wind, according to global consultancy Navigant Research, amid technology improvements and cost reduction strategies.

Navigant’s analysis indicates the global wind industry installed an estimated 3.3GW of new offshore capacity in 2017, bringing the cumulative total to almost 17GW.
