Finnish investment group Taaleri made its first foray into US wind power with the $350m acquisition of a 277MW project in Texas, with more deals expected later in 2018.

The group’s Taaleri Energia energy unit bought Truscott-Gilliland East Wind from developer Truscott Gilliland Wind, and will advance the project in conjunction with local partner NorthRenew Energy.

Taaleri said it will seek co-investors for the project, with financing discussions starting later in the year.
