The US state of Rhode Island later this year plans to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for up to 400MW of renewable energy including offshore wind, following neighbor Connecticut’s move last week to solicit 825,000MWh from offshore.

Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo directed the Office of Energy Resources (OER) to collaborate with the state’s electric utilities to have a RFP ready for issuance by the end of the summer.
