The newly-launched BEAM investment platform will deploy an initial $50m in equity for distributed energy service companies (DESCOs) to help boost energy access for millions in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
The "pioneering platform", which was launched by private equity player Bamboo Capital Partners and BBOXX, a UK-based utility, aims to deliver energy services to transform lives in the developing world.
