Tackling corrosion and developing new materials in the offshore wind, wave and tidal sectors across Europe could save up to £74bn ($105bn) for developers and create up to £72bn of supply chain opportunities by 2050, according to two new reports.
The issue is considered a major concern for offshore developers, with all marine structures facing corrosion problems impacting on the operations and maintenance (O&M) costs along a project's lifecycle.
