MHI Vestas and DNV GL are among a new alliance targeting offshore wind development in Vietnam.

The turbine OEM and the global technology group joined Singapore-based Enterprize Energy, Renewable Energy Global Solutions and the local PetroVietnam consortium to sign early-stage agreements to work towards “multi-phased, utility-scale wind developments, offshore Southern Vietnam, including feasibility, environmental, development, financing planning through implementation”.

The group will focus on an area it has named the Ke Ga Offshore Wind Development Zone, off the south of the country, where it said its alliance-based approach “has the potential to deliver utility-scale offshore wind energy development within government’s price expectations”.
